Texas Legal Roundup is a semi-regular newsletter written by Matt Erickson and Daniel Rankin that covers the biggest Texas legal stories with a focus on major opinions of the Texas Supreme Court and intermediate courts of appeals. Subscribing will grant immediate access to SCOTX opinion statistics, BOM Watch, summaries of major cases, and more.

Matthew P. Erickson is a litigation associate in the Austin office of Baker Botts. He represents clients in a variety of complex litigation matters with a focus on critical motions practice and appellate proceedings.
Before joining Baker Botts, Matthew clerked for Judge Don R. Willett of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and Judge Gene E.K. Pratter of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Daniel Rankin is a litigation associate in the Austin office of Baker Botts. Before joining Baker Botts, Daniel clerked for Judge Don R. Willett on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, Judge Jeffrey V. Brown on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, and Justice John P. Devine on the Supreme Court of Texas. In addition to his clerkships, Daniel served as a Staff Attorney for Justice Evan A. Young on the Supreme Court of Texas and a Law & Liberty Fellow for the Institute for Justice.
Contributors:
Andrew Swallows is a litigation associate in the Austin office of Baker Botts. While in law school, Mr. Swallows served as the Managing Senior Executive Editor of the Baylor Law Review, and received numerous speaking and advocacy awards.
Prior to joining Baker Botts, Andrew served as a law clerk for Justice Huddle on the Supreme Court of Texas.
